Product Management @ Canva 

The mission of Product Managers at Canva is to create the most accessible design tool for every person in the world. We believe that we can improve the world by empowering everyone to design and communicate visually. As a Product Manager at Canva you help set this vision, define what that future looks like, and build the products and features that get us there.

Product Managers collaborate with Canva’s founders to set the strategic direction, scope, and success metrics for product initiatives. We work across teams of designers, software engineers, marketers and analysts to ensure we're delivering an exceptional experience to all our users. We are responsible for implementing and collaborating on product strategy, road mapping, and prioritisation as our product grows. 

It’s our responsibility to see products through their entire lifecycle—from concept through to validation, build, post-launch analytics and iterations.

As the Video product matures into a platform that anyone can use, your key focus will be ensuring we win in the business market. You’ll be a key driver to help achieve our vision of democratising video storytelling for everyone - from individuals, to small businesses and upto large organisations. 

About you

We’re looking for someone who understands customer experiences and has the ability to make data-backed decisions. They should be able to collaborate easily with design, data, and engineering to deliver on product goals at lightning speed. This means they are no stranger to software development. They help unblock their teams and break down dreams into tangible milestones. This individual should be great at understanding end customers, then mapping that back to customer & product goals

We know that video as a communication tool is a fast-growing space. Fundamentally, this candidate will be thinking about the future of motion and video in Canva.

Understand our existing video and motion roadmap

Set understandable metrics and targets for the teams

Flex your visionary muscles in how rich media can be used in all types of designs at Canva

Manage existing animation projects and drive technical video editing projects forward

6-12 month goals

Set a vision while expanding on our existing rich media roadmap in Canva

Drive projects towards that vision

Responsibilities

  • Understand the needs of Canva users who use rich media, to make Canva come to life beyond static content
  • Look at different sources of data from competitors to the market, to inform team goals & prioritization of initiatives
  • Jump and analyze quantitative and qualitative information to always validate ideas and plans
  • Collaborate with design, engineering, and marketing to hit goals, drive projects, and remove roadblocks
  • Work with your engineering and design team to break project goals into milestones, and see them through delivery and rollout
  • Recognise the biggest picture, communicate, collaborate, and compromise effectively with stakeholders and other PMs for the best outcome for Canva

Experience the candidate will have

  • You enjoy building amazing product and tackling customer problems
  • You’ve worked with an engineering and design team
  • You are feel comfortable with analysis and statistics 
  • You are great at understanding a users
  • You are great at reading and gathering qualitative data
  • You are good at working and bringing people together towards a common goal
