Award-winning International co. - Linux Systems Engineer / Automation VM ware role
Contract - immediate start
Melbourne based - remote working available
Lucrative contract rate - $ 800 - $1000 per day

They are open to hiring someone with Linux System or Automation engineering or Linux Administrator background
Australian International leading company are investing heavily in their infrastructure and upgrading several systems to implement cutting- edge technologies and automate things. This demand of work is across a number of long-term projects working on Linux and VM ware systems.

This client is a well-known leader in their industry. They have a key project (working on Linux systems) that is currently at the design phase, and we are looking for an experienced individual who can come in and assist with the design and build through to support. You work closely with all stakeholders and present your strategic ideas to senior management.
Some of the Responsibilities include:

  • The Systems Engineer will form part of a technical team responsible for the maintenance and enhancement of existing systems along with the production of new systems.
  • The Systems Engineer will be expected to liaise with professional and technical staff regarding setting up appropriate hardware, software and operating system environments, carry out integration tasks, perform data configuration, as well as complex problem resolution.
  • The Systems Engineer will be conducting a variety tasks across the Software Development Lifecycle with real time and business systems;
  • The Systems Engineer will also be required to carry out software configuration, as well as technical validation activities.
  • The Systems Engineer may be required to carry out the upgrade and enhancement of various existing Systems as well as conduct maintenance investigation and defect rectification, as well as assist with testing activities if required.

An ideal candidate will have - (training given)

  • Proficient in designing and building and supporting Linux
  • Lunix environments including Centos, Ubuntu and Debian (not essential)
  • Proficient in building and managing VMs using tools like VM Ware and KVM
  • Demonstrated interest in working with real time, mission critical systems.
  • Experience in applying security principles to environment builds.
  • Experience building and maintaining automation of builds and deployment of systems using tools such as Jenkins (or similar tools)
