Job Description

PERSOLKELLY are seeking a Payroll Officer on behalf of our client who specialise in the Education sector. The role is based in Albury; however, the right candidate can work remotely from home. The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for the management and processing of payroll for all employees as directed by the Line Manager, and the provision of a high-quality comprehensive payroll service ensuring to support the Payroll Team.

The role requires someone with the ability to apply problem solving skills and analysis to resolving customer payroll issues raised through the Customer Support System.


  • Administer the day-to-day aspects of payroll to ensure service is delivered in accordance with appropriate policies and legislative requirements, within strict deadlines.
  • Prepare general correspondence, create electronic files and maintain all documentation relating to payroll to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Ensuring recordkeeping and storage complies with legislative guidelines relating to confidentiality and security.
  • Work with the Employee Services Officers to provide support and advice to managers on a range of payroll functions.
  • Respond to requests from staff navigating and accessing information from Employee Self-Service and Manager Self-Service
  • Provide employment information to staff as required to maintain transparency of employment conditions and entitlements



  • Experience in SAP and Excel (pivot tables, V look ups, formulas)
  • Attention to detail
  • Must have access to a laptop and another screen if you are to work remotely.
  • Experience in Payment Summary Processing, reconciliations and Month End Processing
  • Demonstrable delivery of timely and accurate HR/Payroll services in an autonomous role with a high volume of transactions
  • Will require a WWCC
